The Heart of the Rond Skyline Ridge (red). We think that this is a first descent. It is a variation of the more frequented Heart of the Rond (blue) also known as the 'Salopar' in French meaning 'bitch'.
The Heart of the Rond drops down in front of us here. We
took the red dotted line that someone had left out for us to follow instead.
We had to wander along the snowy ridge behind
Step around the awkward rock section.
And wander along the snowy ridge a bit further till we could
put our skis on.
The snow was perfect.
Dave sets off finding a way through the rocks.
There was a tiny hint of sun crust in the top layer of snow
but it wasn't stopping Tim enjoying himself.
Dave running some slough in the steeper lower section.
Tim's walkman kicks into MC Hammer and he is forced to do
a spot of break dancing.
Tim cruising above the rocks to a sweet line over skiers left.
And now running some fairly deep powder.
I managed to film the hike along the ridge earlier but during putting my skis on managed to forget to plug the headcam battery pack back in!
Trying to abseil off a snow bollard. It ripped through.
Dave went for the straightline here rather than an abseil.
The snow in here was bullet proof and it didn't look much fun on the knees.
Tim and I downclimbed.
