Looking back at the Cosmiques hut on the way back from my attempt at the Glacier Rond. It is amazing how much things have changed here with the hot summer we have had. |

I went in on a rope just in case, stamped and cut as much as I could and it seemed good. I dug a pit and checked the layering, all well bonded right down to the ice. All good then. I did a few turns after leaving the rope and then let my sluff go past and as it went past the fracture ran across the slope. It was quite spectacular. |
